Well, Well, Well...

All right!  First post of 2014!  \(^o^)/  Greetings, everyone.  I hope your holidays were great.  Let's jump into things, shall we?

"She's got that 'Something'"
Pretty much as soon as the clock struck midnight, Yunho and Changmin released a music video titled 'Something.  It kind of reminds me of a cross between TaeTiSeo's (a subgroup of SNSD) 'Twinkle' and Maaya Sakamoto's 'DOWNTOWN'--all of which have that 1920-1930s swing feel.  At first, it took me a while to get into the song.  It seems to be a recurring thing where I can't get into their songs until much later.  But now, it's growing on me.  I do like how the music video was set up.  But then there were the scenes where they had the ladies all over them...   ಠ_ಠ  *jealous fangirl*  I could've just sat around and looked pretty while next to Changmin too.  Here is the music video if you have yet to watch it:

They also released the album 'TENSE' not too long ago with quite a new genre that they're dabbling into.  There is a song on there called 'TEN (10 Years)' which I'm guessing is a dedication song to the fans for ten years in the business.  It's rather bittersweet for me.  *sigh*  I fear that if Jaejong, Yoochun, and Junsu don't release something music-related as JYJ then they might be forgotten.  It'd be even better if they could come back together as five.  What I really dislike is that fact that some fans say that Yunho and Changmin don't give a s**t about the other three or vice versa as they move on in their careeres.  >:/

Changmin leaves 'Cool Kiz on the Block'
I'm really sad about this.  While I do admit that I did watch the show mainly for him, I've become really into watching all the teammates as they played various sports.  But Changmin decided that he should leave the show so he could better focus on the promotions for 'Something'.  Now he won't get to see the Winter Olympics in Sochi.  I will really miss his presence on the show.  I predict that the viewer ratings will drop due to this which is also sad.

By gosh...it's finally happened...
After kind of evading them for a while, EXO has wormed their way into my fangirl heart.  I'm still not familiar with faces and names, but I've got half of them down.  This all happened about a week ago as my sister and I were watching their little t.v. show called 'EXO Showtime'.  If I were to pick a bias as of right now, it'd most likely be Chanyeol and Tao, but Xiumin and Chen also catch my eye.

A boy who loves his fuzzy hats--Chanyeol
"Please buy me this"--Tao

The eldest--Xiumin
Who apparently looks like a camel when he winks--Chen

So, it seems my bias list might get a little longer.  ^^  This might just be a phase for now.  But after watching their little show, I find that EXO aren't all so bad.  They're not on the same level of maturity as TVXQ was (and still is), but I realize that they're still newbies.  Of course they've recieved a slightly bad image in some other fandoms' eyes because of their own fans.  But I wouldn't fault them on that just because of their fans.  If it were then there would have been a bit of fault with TVXQ too, wouldn't there?  Aside from EXO, I also find B.A.P. to be quite funny after seeing them on their own little show called 'Killing Camp'.  Some of their music may not be the kind I listen to often, but I know they work hard too.  My sister also seems to have gotten into a group called BTS.  Like B.A.P., their music isn't one I'd listen to on a daily basis, but I find myself laughing when I hear "WE GOIN' HARD TO THE COFFEE HOUSE!!" even if that's not what they're saying.  It seems that I'm branching out a little to the newer, younger groups who will all have to call me noona (older sister).  Ah, the noona authority has finally arrived...  (⌐■_■)

KAT-TUN since Koki's departure
After Koki's departure, KAT-TUN still kept going.  Towards the end of last year they released a few music videos and a mini album titled 'Kusabi'.  Everytime I read that, I think of the kusabi from the video game 'Fatal Frame II: The Crimson Butterfly'.  Here is their music video for 'Kusabi'.  At the same time, I'd have to say that it seems as though Junnosuke is becoming quite the popular member.  At the beginning of the year they had a fanmeeting and sold merchandise.  Apparently Junnosuke's merchandise sold out faster than the other members' did!  But there might be some speculation that there was fewer of his than the others. I really like that he's gaining some love.  I just hope it doesn't all go to his head.  Lately, some television shows have been questioning the members about the ones that left, and KAT-TUN has been answering.  On a new show that they're doing called 'KAT-TUN no Sekaiichi no Tabi ni', they did make mention of Koki in an indirect way and it felt that they did miss him.  To me, I find that to be quite honest of them.  If only another group could do that too.  *looking at TVXQ/JYJ*  As for Koki, it seems he's really liking being on Twitter.  He graces us with pictures of stuff--like him cosplaying as Levi from 'Attack on Titan' and his manga collection.  I believe he's going to be in a movie too.

Well, I suppose that is all for this post.  Until next time~!

  1. May I just start by saying that I think your writing gets better and better. ^o^ I also love the snowflake background!

Indeed, this comeback was one that just suddenly happened (although I know that more observant fans than me had been waiting around for it for quite a while. xD)! It was very surprising (to me) to have them release a new song before the year had even started. As usual, I guess I'm focusing more on Yunho than on Changmin. You know how I've always been nagging about him needing to do more 'fun' stuff, mainly because I think he has a very sweet and sometimes quite strange sense of humour. xD So when I became familiar with the concept of this MV, which is retro and, at the same time, very modern and cool, I felt it would certainly be a smash because that cool was also very funny and charming. Changmin did great too. Ah yes - the ladies! You know, I do not mean to make fun of you (in fact I think that you're saying things that a lot of us fangirls are feeling but dare not express because it's not very popular with some fans.) but this comment made me grin: 'I could've just sat around and looked pretty while next to Changmin too.' Exactly! This is so true. So make room for Maddie and me in the next MV please! xD

I was sad to see Changmin leave the show as well. >< I haven't watched as many episodes as you have, but
    I do think he made the show his own, and made it fun, too. Without him being there, I'm not sure I would even have watched it. That probably makes me an ignorant fangirl, but I'm just not into sports that much...^^;

I like your take on EXO here - the way you state that even though their fans have earned a less than favourable reputation, the group itself may not be all that bad. I know we tend to complain that our fandom keeps losing people to EXO, but on the other hand I cannot keep myself from being curious about new artists and groups really, so in a way I do understand that people keep moving. TVXQ are always very vocal on their support for EXO and I think that's a hint to us too, a way of saying that we shouldn't think these guys are bad people even if some of their fans have been known to cause trouble. >< It really is too bad that "WE GOIN' HARD TO THE COFFEE HOUSE!!" isn't the actual lyrics. That would have been hilarious. xD A little noona authority will always come in handy. ;) Thanks for a very nice read! YF

    1. Thank you for stopping by and commenting, YF! I feel bad that it's always you who had to though. :x Yeah, it was suprising--even though I think they did mention about releasing an album. But since I've been out of the loop, news reaches me slower. Ahaha~ It's okay of you focus more on Yunho. We're making up for each other by not really focusing on the other member. XD Nah, it's fine to laugh. It was my intent to make it funny. Oh, I know! It'd be great if we could be in the next MV. I remember when 'Choosey Lover' came out, there is one part where Changmin stops to watch a lady with a gold shirt dance. My sister told me that lady was me. XD Yeah, it is sad to see him leave the show. I know he also said that if there was a way to balance his promotions with the show, he'd do that. I suppose I wouldn't have watched the show either if Changmin wasn't on it...plus if it wasn't on KBS to begin with. Now I have to watch it on my computer, and I was worried when the show got to be a few weeks behind. I guess something was going on. Thank you. That's what I am thinking when it comes to EXO. Sure, my first impression of them wasn't that great, and they just exploded in popularity. But after actually watching them, I feel I was too harsh with them. Oh, you shouldn't have to restrict yourself when it comes checking out other groups. And now that I think about it, while EXO fans can be crazy...we can't forget that our own fandom has done some wild stuff in the past (and even nowadays). I think my next post will be about this. .__. Ahaha~ I know! XD That line would've been really hilarious! I found a video of various Kpop English fails. I think I'll post that here. These noona powers are really new to me as new groups come out, but I'll use them wisely. >__< Thank you for always having time to stop by. ^o^ I guess I should promote my blog more.
