Jumping at every sound you hear...
Not knowing what's lurking behind that door...
That is generally what you would feel when playing any of the games from the "Fatal Frame" series! :D When I first heard about "Fatal Frame", I told myself that I was never going to play them. Then a friend of mine showed me and my sister the first one. She told us that we should play it, so we tried it out. It was scary as heck! o.O I'm sure any of you that have played it can testify to that. However, it wasn't me that played the first one. I got the honor of playing the second installment (borrowed by another friend)...and in October too. It was scarier that the first one! It's got a higher game rating than the last one too (rated 'M'). Despite me freaking out when advancing into the game, I really liked it. But come bedtime...
Shall I give you a short synopsis? Well, the story begins with twin sisters, Mayu and Mio, taking a stroll in the woods that would soon be torn down. Mayu has an injured leg from falling as a child, but she sights a glowing crimson butterfly and wanders off. Mio chases her to a darker part of the woods where they both encounter 'The Lost Village'. How it got "lost"? You'll have to find out for yourself. ^_6 But basically, you are playing as Mio most of the time and trying to get you and your sister out of the village. The enemies in this game are ghosts. Some are hostile while others are not. And your only weapon? A camera! It sure does take a new meaning to "cameras can capture your soul". There are three different endings depending on which mode you play and how you play it. The first time around is the normal ending though...and it sucks! Not in a "Oh, that's dumb" way but in a "Aw, man! No way!" kind of way.
The cover is scary enough! |
If you love a good scare in your video game experience, I'd recommend any of the games in this series. I have yet to see how the third and fourth are like, but they are bound to keep up the scary bit.
Okay...now I am feeling a bit scared... :D
This game sounds like a lot of fun! I want to play the second because it got an M rating so that tells me it has more gore and whatnot in it! :D
ReplyDeleteActually, there doesn't seem to be much blood in it at all...at least to me there isn't. ^_^; I think it is because there are just too many scary moments in it.
